Day 1 | Huaraz to Llamacorral Basecamp

Depart Huaraz by car, traveling through the small towns of Caraz and Cashapampa. From there, you will begin your Santa Cruz trek! Hike past crashing whitewater rivers and under the shadow of towering mountains to your first campsite at Llamacorral.

Day 2 | Llamacorral Basecamp to Taullipampa Basecamp

Begin your trek early to walk past sparkling turquoise lagoons and cascading waterfalls towards the Alpamayo viewpoint. From this vantage point, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. You will spend the night at the stunning Taullipampa basecamp, surrounded by the imposing peaks of Taulliraju, Artesonraju, and Quitaraju.

Day 3 | Taullipampa Basecamp to Cachinapampa Basecamp

Today, you will conquer the high point of the trek at Punta Unión Pass (4750m)! From this lofty position, you will have fabulous panoramic views of majestic Incan mountain gods, as well as the stunning lake below. Continue with an easy downhill towards your campsite at Cacinapampa with spectacular views in all directions.

Day 4 | Cachinapampa Basecamp to Huaraz

This morning, your trek will take you past isolated Andean villages and through spectacularly beautiful mountain passes. Take in the jaw-dropping scenery as you make your way downhill towards the village of La Vaqueria, where your private transportation will pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Huaraz.

Day One : Snowy peaks in every direction

Amazing Santa Cruz trek in Huaraz Early in the morning you will be picked up from your accommodations and be transferred from Huaraz to Caraz, a small town where people’s culture are represented in the small monuments in the plaza. Then your adventure continues to Cashapampa located at 2970m.a.s.l. In this place, you will meet the friendly muleteers who will put all the camping gear on the strong mules. You will start your trek from the Cashapampa village. On your way to Llamacorral (3760m.a.s.l), you will see how the blue sky mixes with the snowy peaks around you and get to admire some beautiful landscapes.     Overnight at Llamacorral basecamp at 3,760 m/12,303  ft. Day Two: Panoramic views and the beauty of snowy mountains

chaullipampa base camp-santa cruz trek After breakfast in Llamacorral, you will pass the blue-green color lagoons called Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha as you zigzag up to the Alpamayo viewpoint and start trekking the Quebrada de Arhuaycocha. This is the perfect place to admire some snowy peaks, such as, Aguja de Santa Cruz, Pumapampa, Curiucashjana, Quitaraju, Alpamayo, Pucajirca, Artosenraju, Paria, Millishraju, and Parón, among others. You will see the enchanting beauty of these amazing snowy mountains as you trek to your next camping site in Taullipampa (4250m.a.s.l.). Your panoramic views will include the snowy mountains of Taulliraju, Artesonraju, and Quitaraju, as you feel the cool wind blowing around you.     Overnight at Taulllipampa basecamp at 4,250 m/13,943 ft. Day Three: Spectacular panoramas far and wide

After breakfast, you will conquer the Paso de Punta Unión (4750m.a.s.l.). From this place, you will get to admire a panoramic view of the Cordillera Blanca such as Taulliraju, RInrijircas, Pucajircas, Quitaraju, Santa Cruz, Artesonraju, Pirámide de Garcilaso, Paria, and Millishraju, among many others. Fantastic scenery everywhere will be there just for you and your camera. You will see the Quebrada de Santa Cruz and Morococha Huaripampa, as well as the spectacular panoramas far and wide. Your adventure continues as you descend to the Cacinapampa camping site (3700m.a.s.l.).     Overnight at Cachinapampa basecamp at 3,700 m/12,139  ft. Trekking Time: Approximately 7 hours Hiking Level: Moderate Meals: B, Snack , L, D Accommodation: Tents Activities: all the ones described in the itinerary accompanied by a professional tour guide

Day Four: Admire the highest mountain of Huascaran

After breakfast your next adventure begins. Following a trail along the village of Huaripampa, a picturesque town, where colorful landscapes can be seen all around. Then you will visit other towns, Yanachaca (3500m.a.s.l.) and Colcabamba, where a spectacular view of the Chacraraju can be appreciated. Later on, you will take the bus from Vaquería town to return to Huaraz. Along the way, you will pass El Paso de Portachuelo de Llanganuco (4797m.a.s.l.) where you will have a panoramic view of Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, the four Huandoys, and Pisco mountains. Afterwards, you will descend to Yungay and then transfer to Huaraz to your hotel.
