Cusco and Machu Picchu 6 day itinerary Overview:

Day 1 – Revealing the Secrets of Cusco: Morning Arrival & Inca Heritage Walking Adventure

Touch down in Cusco by morning—trust me, you’ll want every minute in this city that hums with history and energy. Once you’ve dropped your bags and taken a breath of that thin, crisp Andean air, dive right in.

Start in the Plaza de Armas, where centuries of history meet in a cacophony of colors, sounds, and stories. From there, wander into San Blas, Cusco’s bohemian soul, with its narrow streets and the faint smell of fresh coffee and alpaca wool. But the real gems lie in the details—step into Koricancha, once a temple to the sun, where the Inca’s stone mastery stares down the heavy-handed colonial architecture layered on top.

And then, the pièce de résistance: the Palace of Inca Túpac Yupanqui. Here, you won’t just see history—you’ll feel it. Stand where royalty once walked, touch the precision-carved stones that defy modern technology, and imagine the world as they did—gold glinting in the sunlight, life ordered by the stars. This is Cusco. Vibrant, ancient, alive.

Day 5 – Explore Cusco or Chase Adventure in the Andes

Today is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of day. Stay in Cusco, where every cobblestone street tells a story, every corner café offers a sip of local magic, and the markets buzz with vibrant Andean energy. Or, if your soul craves something wilder, set that alarm early and head out into the heart of Peru’s rugged landscapes for an epic adventure.

If you’re up for it, the day starts at 4:00 AM with one of three thrilling group treks. First up: the Rainbow Mountain, where bands of surreal colors streak across the earth like a natural kaleidoscope—it’s tough, but the views are worth every breath. Or maybe the Humantay Lagoon is calling, with its hypnotic turquoise waters cradled by towering peaks that seem to touch the heavens. Feeling daring? Opt for Waqra Pukara, a jaw-dropping fortress clinging to the cliffs above the roaring Apurímac River, where history and adrenaline collide.

Back in Cusco by 5:00 PM, you’ll have earned that celebratory pisco sour and some well-deserved downtime. Whether you spend the day immersed in the city’s charm or pushing your limits in the Andes, it’s all about experiencing Peru on your own terms.

Machu Picchu

No te pierdas a jorge
