Experience alpaca therapy in the Andes the way it was once practiced by Incan leaders — not as a performance, but as sacred medicine. Walk beside llamas and alpacas through the Sacred Valley, offer coca leaves to Pachamama, and lie in silence as ancestral flutes guide you back to balance.
This is not your average tour. It’s a moment of reconnection. One that stays with you long after the mountains are behind you.
Discover the power of animal connection and ancestral healing in the heart of the Andes.
This alpaca therapy experience combines mindful interaction with gentle alpacas and a relaxing sound healing session surrounded by mountains and sacred silence.
Designed for wellness seekers and curious travelers, this is a one-of-a-kind escape into the spiritual energy of the Sacred Valley — just a short journey from Cusco.
This deeply immersive journey takes you to Cuyo bajo, a remote Andean community above Pisac, to experience a unique blend of Alpaca Therapy and sound healing in the Andes. Guided by Vicente, a cultural guardian of the region, you’ll walk sacred trails with llamas, participate in traditional ceremonies, and rest your head on the warm body of an alpaca as ancient instruments re-align your energy.
After the ceremony, you’ll visit the Pisac ruins, where you’ll be given quiet, personal time to reflect and absorb the energy of this sacred site. The day ends with a delicious local lunch of fire-baked empanadas and traditional drinks, before returning to Cusco. This experience is ideal for travelers seeking healing, authenticity, and deep spiritual connection in the heart of the Andes.
Ancestral Alpaca Therapy.– A sacred ritual once used by Andean leaders to reconnect emotionally and spiritually. Feel the grounding energy of the alpacas and learn the true meaning of animal-human connection.
Sound Healing Ceremony.– Guided by Vicente with flutes made of bone, clay, and wood. These ancestral instruments are not just musical — they are energetic tools used to restore inner balance and awaken dormant emotions.
Sacred Space and Solo Time in Pisac Ruins.– After the ceremony, your guide will step back, giving you time to explore the Pisac ruins in silence. With your energetic field open from the healing, you’ll feel the sacred power of the site more deeply.
Cultural Rituals with Coca & Chicha.-Offerings to Pachamama, coca leaf ceremonies, and sacred drinks create a direct bridge between you and the spiritual traditions of the Andes.
Local Lunch in Pisac.– Oven-baked empanadas made with native ingredients, paired with herbal drinks — a warm, grounding end to a profound day.
8:00 AM – Leave the city. Leave the noise.
Cusco’s waking up. Taxis honking, tourists fumbling with maps, espresso machines screaming in overpriced cafés. But you? You’re headed somewhere else. A van picks you up and you’re gone — carving your way through mountain roads that don’t care about your itinerary. The city fades. The silence starts working on you before you even arrive.
9:00 AM – Cuyo bajo: a place that doesn’t pretend to be anything else.
You pull into a clearing above Pisac, and there they are — Vicente and a few local women, waiting with flowers in hand. No cheesy welcome ceremony. No speeches. Just a quiet, grounded reception. It feels real because it is. You breathe in and feel something shift. Lighter. Slower.
9:15 AM – Walking with alpacas. And not the Instagram kind.
You take the rope and begin walking down into the valley, beside a creature that stares right into your soul. Llamas and alpacas walk with you, not behind you. Their steps are steady, like they’ve done this for centuries. Maybe they have. There’s no small talk. Just wind, earth, and hooves on stone. You don’t realize it yet, but this is where the healing begins.
9:45 AM – Offerings to the Earth. Not as a show. As a necessity.
By the river, you’re handed three coca leaves. You breathe into them. Not a metaphor — you literally breathe your intentions, your crap, your hopes, your questions into those leaves. Then you offer them to the ground. Chicha passes between hands. The kind of drink that tastes like tradition. This is not something to post. It’s something to feel.
10:15 AM – The therapy you didn’t know you needed.
You lie down. On the ground. On Andean blankets. Head resting against the warm torso of a llama or alpaca that somehow just gets you. Vicente plays ancestral instruments — flutes made of bone and clay, sounds that feel older than memory. You don’t know what’s happening. You just know your body has gone quiet. For once.
11:15 AM – The slow walk back. The world has changed. Or maybe just you.
The alpacas lead the way now. You follow. Everything’s softer. The breeze, the sunlight, the way your thoughts land in your mind. You haven’t spoken much. You don’t need to.
12:00 PM – Pisac ruins. The perfect place to shut up and listen.
Up among the ruins, you’re left alone on purpose. No guided monologue. No facts about the Incas. Just space. Space to sit with everything that just happened. The ceremony. The animals. The music. You. The mountain doesn’t need you to understand it. Just to be with it. So you stay a while.
1:00 PM – Lunch, the local way.
Back in Pisac town, you’re handed a warm, wood-fired empanada — crisp outside, soft and messy inside. Chicha or a local beer to wash it down. No menu. No substitutions. Just food made with love and smoke.
2:00 PM – Back to Cusco. But not the same.
The road winds you back. But something’s shifted. You’re quieter. More awake. The Sacred Valley does that to people. Especially when alpacas and ancestral flutes are involved.
After lunch in Pisac and the closing of the experience, we usually return to Cusco around 3:00 PM.
However, if you’re continuing your journey through the Sacred Valley, we can also drop you off at any location in the valley — including Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, or your hotel of choice. Just let us know in advance and we’ll make it happen.

I was in Peru for several weeks doing all the typical tourist things. I had one free day and wanted a unique, safe, natural, spiritual experience with a shaman. I can’t say enough good things about how wonderful the healing ceremony with the Incan Shaman, Vicente, and a wonderful alpaca, was. It was totally authentic in a beautiful location by the river and hills which had once been farmed by Incans. Just me, the alpaca, 2 llamas, Vicente, and his 2 assistants, playing beautiful Incan music on instruments Vicente made. After an authentic Incan blessing we all participated in, I was dressed in authentic Incan clothing, lay on my back with my head on the alpaca’s belly, and relaxed. I was serenaded with mesmerizing music and showered with rose petals. I didn’t want the experience to end. I was accompanied by a tour guide who translated everything Vicente said and Katherine, who organized the tour, helped to support the experience. She was delightful! If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience, I highly recommend treating yourself to this wonderful healing
Ceremony.
