TAMBOPATA ADVENTURE ITINERARY:

Day 01| Touchdown at Tambopata Research Center, Your Gateway to Amazon Wonders

Arrival at Tambopata Research Center.Begin in Puerto Maldonado, the heart of Madre de Dios. A bus and boat ride will take you to your lodge. Enjoy Amazon cuisine as you journey through stunning jungle landscapes.

Passing the Malinowski River, you’ll enter a vast reserve teeming with wildlife like capybara, caiman, geese, and macaws. Your destination is the Tambopata Research Center, an eco-lodge nestled among macaw nests. Your stay includes meals, teas, coffee, guided tours, activities, refreshments, and airport transfers.
In the afternoon, hike the Overlook A trail for breathtaking views of the Tambopata winding into the lowlands. Spot Howler Monkey and Dusky Titi Monkey along the way. At night, opt for a nocturnal exploration to spot active but elusive mammals and frogs.

Rest in a Standard bedroom at the center, surrounded by the tranquility of nature. Your adventure has just begun.

Day 02| A Symphony of Colors: Unveiling the Macaw Clay Lick at Tambopata Research Center in the Heart of the Amazon

On clear mornings, a vibrant assembly of macaws and parrots gather on the river bank. From a discreet distance, we observe these birds descend for clay ingestion at dawn, their most active time.
The five-kilometer trail through the rainforest is home to various monkeys and peccaries. This habitat also houses the Tambopata Research Center (TRC).
A short journey upriver leads to an island with a pond, a sanctuary for diverse waterfowl and other bird species. After dinner, scientists deliver an enlightening lecture on the biology of macaws, their feeding habits, breeding ecology, and conservation threats.

The day concludes with a restful night in Standard bedroom at the TRC.

Day 03|: Into the Heart of the Jungle: A Deep Dive into the Enchanting Peruvian Rainforest from Tambopata Research Center
Stepping carefully over the winding “highways” of peaceful leaf-cutter ants, the Rainforest Master Hike will leave you with unforgettable memories and a profound sense of accomplishment. Due to their years of local experience, our Tambopata Research Center guides know everything about the forest. They’ll spot the tiniest bird hiding in the canopy, the most elusive monkey, and the most spectacular plant life.

Twilight descends early in the jungle. Under the thick tree cover of the rainforest, darkness falls quickly, when the light cannot slip through the foliage any longer. Now, as afternoon slips into evening, you’re about to see one of the world’s most spectacular sunsets. The Sunset Cruise floats down the wide river, countless oranges and pinks reflecting off the water in lovely patterns.

Day 04|Concluding the Expedition: A Farewell to Puerto Maldonado

As our expedition draws to a close, it is time to bid farewell and return to Puerto Maldonado. Your visit has made a significant contribution to both Wired Amazon and the National Reserve of Tambopata.

You will embark on your journey back to the city, heading towards the airport for your onward domestic flight.
