Enjoy a true adventure that is the ultimate expression of “off-the-beaten-track”, as you descend valleys, climb mountain passes, and hike through the cloud forest, culminating in the awe-inspiring citadel of Machu Picchu!
On the Choquequirao Machu Picchu trek, you will hike through one of Peru’s most beautiful unspoiled wildernesses.
Explore the majestic ruined city of Choquequirao, the last refuge of the Incas and the last refuge away from the crowds at Machu Picchu!

“One of the Most Incredible — and Toughest — Journeys of My Life”
6-Day Trek to Choquequirao & Machu Picchu with Pie Experiences
I’ve done a fair bit of traveling, but this trek? This one changed me.
Six days through the Andes, tracing ancient Inca trails from the lost city of Choquequirao to the iconic Machu Picchu — it was brutal, beautiful, and absolutely unforgettable. The terrain pushed every limit I thought I had. Long, steep descents, soul-crushing climbs, and remote landscapes that felt like the edge of the world. But with every step, I felt more alive.
What made it possible — even enjoyable — was our guide, Yonathan. The man has the patience of a saint. He led with calm strength, deep knowledge, and a quiet humor that kept our spirits high, even when our legs gave out. He didn’t just guide us; he shared the soul of the Andes.
And let’s talk about the real MVPs: the horses. On the toughest stretches, when we couldn’t take another step, they carried our gear and sometimes even us — like angels with hooves.
This wasn’t just a trek. It was a rite of passage. If you’re looking for something raw, real, and truly transformative, this is it.
